The Economic Forum organised every year in Krynica has become in fact an institution that has taken root in the consciousness of the organisers and participants. It is the Forum that, thanks to its international character and the participation of numerous business and governmental groups, becomes a perfect melting pot for international exchange and gives birth to numerous initiatives and cooperation offers. It also serves the broadly understood integration and exchange of common experience.
This year, business activity will be accompanied by a cultural programme, or - to be more exact - by an international exhibition of contemporary print. This exhibition is more than a one-off project broadening the offer of the Economic Forum with the cultural plane. The exhibition continues the vast Eurografik 2003/2005 European Culture Integration Bridge international programme.
The history of the Eurografik is long, as the beginning of the programme dates back to 2001; to quote the words of the man who inspired the whole programme and its idea:
In October 2001, a project known as Eurografik 2003/2005 European Culture Integration Bridge originated around the International Print Triennial in Krakow. Together with a group of magnificent and committed people from Kyiv, Moscow and numerous other cities, we are beginning to implement our idea of lasting conciliation with the exhibition in the Lavra Gallery in Kyiv. There, you will find the spirit of conciliation and love to our world and heritage communicated by the artists of the whole continent. Let us give it a chance.
(Professor Witold Skulicz; from the introduction to the Catalogue of the Eurografik 2003/2005 European Culture Integration Bridge exhibition)
Eurografik 2003/2005 European Culture Integration Bridge evolved as a reference to the 40 years of tradition of the International Print Triennial in Krakow, which presented everything that had come into being in the past decades at the European arts stage. Here, we would like to remark that the integration slogans and unification concepts, so very often quoted nowadays, were embodied here in Krakow, through a joint effort of thousands of artists from the east and from the west of Europe - artists participating in this specific artistic confrontation that print exhibitions provide.
Emphasising all these at the threshold of the 21st century in Europe with no barriers, we have developed a programme that, making reference to the history of the Triennial, most strongly emphasises the meeting of diverse artistic trends, their mutual dialogue and meeting, and the exchange of national artistic traditions. The opening ceremony of the programme took place on 19th November 2003 in Kyiv. Then the exhibition was transferred to Moscow and Leipzig, to be later presented in other cities of Western Europe. In this way, the successive symbolic spans of the bridge are built, developing the cultural dialogue and uniting Europe also at this plane.
To highlight the message conveyed by the whole programme, which at the same time emphasises the integrative and international programme of the 14th Economic Forum, we have prepared one of the cycle's exhibitions during the Krynica summit. The exhibition, which will illustrate in the best possible way the goal of the Forum, namely, the development of cooperation between European countries and exchange of expertise and experience.

Introduction of the President of the International Print Triennial in Krakow to the "EUROGRAFIK Krynica 2004" Exhibition Catalogue
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is an honour for us that our exhibition of modern printmaking, featuring works of artists from twenty European countries, is included in the programme of the 14th Economic Forum in Krynica. The reason for its importance is that the Economic Forum - a European meeting of politicians and businesspeople discussing co-operation between the East and the West - has sent a clear signal to Europe that the world of culture and cultural events are and should be made part of a discussion on mutual relations and social and economic philosophy. I strongly believe that the signal sent from Krynica will reverberate throughout Europe , providing an ideological platform not only for those participating in the Forum.
Professor Witold Skulicz
President of the International Print Triennial in Krakow

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am pleased to offer you viewing the exhibition Eurografik - Krynica 2004, prepared by International Print Triennial Society in Krakow.
The presented exhibition, gathering various artists from all over the Europe, seems to be the linkage in the frame of European integration, artistic dialogue as well as exchange of experience, styles and method of work. The variety of manners illustrating the present world shows the variety of refection on our life and the form of man in modern world. I am convinced that the exhibition Eurografik - Krynica
2004 will perfectly adjust itself to being conducted discussion in the scope of Forum and influence Forum's participants greatly.
