We have the great pleasure to invite you to the exhibit “MTG - Kraków 2003 visits Hungary.” This exhibition represents the results of the work of the International Jury, which deliberated in Krakow in June 2003 to select works sent by artists from all over the world for the triennial competition.
We are very pleased to have the opportunity to cooperate with Hungarian museums and galleries, which has resulted in these exhibits in Budapest. I particularly wish to thank Mr. Meszaros and Mr. Haasz, since it is thanks to their initiative and commitment that we can admire the final effect that is this exhibit. The opportunity to hold the exhibit at Millenaris made it possible to enrich the presentation of the Krakovian Triennial by adding the works of Hungarian artists to the show.
The juxtaposition of the works created by Hungarian artists using computer techniques, as well as the whole variety of other techniques, with the range of techniques and themes of the triennial exhibit, is not startling, not strange.
Both elements are complementary in a completely natural manner. Yet again art demonstrates that the themes put forward by the artists are the themes which affect us all. Because art examines our daily life, exposes sometimes repressed feelings, gives a name to pain and suffering, but also shows faith, happiness – art has been, is and will be an inseparable part of our life.
Again, I heartily invite you to the exhibit, I invite you to this confrontation of personal experience with the interpretations proposed by the artists who are evaluating our times and the reality that surrounds us.
I would just like to add that I hope that this exhibit is the beginning of further cooperation between Krakow and Budapest.
