The Municipal Art Gallery in Łódź is honoured to invite you to take part in the 14th international exhibition of Small Graphic Forms, Poland – Łódź ’11 to be held in Łódź from June until September 2011.
All the submitted works shall be qualified for the exhibition by an international jury appointed by the organisers. Only prints of graphics plates not larger than 12 x 15 cm, made on paper not larger than 25 x 20 cm (without passepartout) shall be accepted for the exhibition.
The organisers kindly request you to send in works produced in the years 2008-2010 (the time limit does not refer to artists who participate in the exhibition for the first time). The deadline is December 15, 2010. The works should be sent as ordinary mail or registered letters (due to the complex customs regulations they must not be sent as value letters in packets or packaging).
The best items will be awarded Honorary Medals and all the participating artists shall receive the qualifying certificate and the exhibition catalogue.
For the purposes of the catalogue edition we kindly ask you to fill in carefully the application form (typewritten or in block letters) and send it to us together with the prints.
As a result of the previous exhibitions we have been able to assemble a valuable 10.307 items collection of contemporary small graphic forms from numerous countries. The Municipal Art Gallery in Łódź puts them on display now and then to promote this type of art creation. We will be deeply grateful if you decide to enrich this collection and donate the prints accepted for the exhibition. We will need a clear statement from you about your decision: do you agree to donate the pieces to the collection of the Municipal Art Gallery in Łódź.

In mid July the exhibitions which have previously been on show in Kyoto now are touring Shimane Prefecture. The second display of the Polish-Japanese Print Exhibition in the Shimane Prefectural Museum in Matsue proved to be of the most popular cultural events, and attracted a large audience, as reports Mr. Akira Kurosaki. The exhibition was announced in the local press newspaper Sanin Chuou Shinnpo News Paper Co. The ongoing interest in Polish prints that were exhibited side by side with Japanese prints attracted about a thousand people in the first days of display. A few days of public holidays falling in Japan at that time may have contributed to a to such a large number of visitors at the exhibitions of professional as well as children’s work. The exhibition in Shimane Museum was enhanced by lectures of print artists from Kyoto, President Mr. Akira Kurosaki, who spoke about the Polish print and Mr. Atsue Sakazume, who disclosed the secrets of one of time honored traditional techniques of printmaking - mezzotint. A featured component of DRAWN 2010, this juried exhibition of 50 works takes the pulse of current drawing practice in Canada. National in scope and stylistically diverse, The Drawing Room features a dynamic range of artistic expression, and includes images created in traditional media along with innovative works that push beyond conventional definitions and categories.
Fifty artists were selected for the exhibitiion, including: Brian Boulton, Shuvinai Ashoona, Nam Duc Nguyen, Val Nelson, Andrew Valko, and Davida Kidd
Jury: John Hartman (artist), Darrin Martens (curator), Angela Grossman (artist), Monte Clark (gallery owner), Sophie Jodoin (artist), Amy Karlinsky (critic) and Lynn Ruscheinsky (art historian).
2010-06-02 Exhibition-Donation Cremona/Katowice
We are pleased to announce that Saturday, May 22, 2010, was presented, at the Museo civico "Ala Ponzone" of Cremona, the collection of 94 prints by Italian artists, who will soon be donated to the Silesian Museum in Katowice. The Exhibition runs until June 13.
During the inauguration, was recalled prof. Witold Skulicz, the importance of his work and also for his active collaboration for the realization of this event and the donation.
